CYC i The BUCS Cycling Championships shall be conducted in accordance with the following BUCS sport specific regulations, the BUCS general regulations, and the rules of the appropriate International or National Governing body. Further event specific requirements, rules, and regulations will be contained within the entry and pre-event information for each Championship.
CYC ii In the event that these regulations contradict the BUCS general regulations, these BUCS sport specific regulations will supersede, unless specifically stated otherwise.
CYC iii In the event that these regulations contradict the rules of the appropriate International or National Governing body, these BUCS sport specific regulations will supersede, unless specifically stated otherwise.
CYC iv The gender eligibility criteria for the BUCS Cycling Championships will be determined as per REG 4.3.
CYC 1 Championships BUCS will host annually the following Championships:
CYC 1.1 10 Mile Time Trial Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.2 25 Mile Time Trial Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.3 3-Up Team Time Trial Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.4 BMX Racing Championships [New Discipline on probation] The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.5 Cross Country Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.6 Cyclo-Cross Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.7 Enduro Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.8 Hill Climb Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.9 Road Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers.
CYC 1.10 Track Championships The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers and event programme capacity.
CYC 1.10.1 The final choice of Championship events and awards is at the organiser’s discretion.
CYC 1.10.2 In the event of any incident or accident the organiser reserves the right to delay, alter or cancel races as appropriate to the situation.
CYC 3 Overall/Extracted Team criteria
CYC 3.1 10 Mile Time Trial Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the individual races. Open team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for three riders from an institution/Playing Entity. Female team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for two riders from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.2 25 Mile Time Trial Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the individual races. Open team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for three riders from an institution/Playing Entity. Female team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for two riders from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.3 3-Up Team Time Trial Championships The Mixed Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the Open and Female races. Team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for one Open Team and one Female Team from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.4 BMX Racing Championships There will be no Overall/Extracted Team results.
CYC 3.5 Cross Country Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the individual races. Open team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for three riders from an institution/Playing Entity. Female team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for two riders from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.6 Cyclo-Cross Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the individual races. Open team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for three riders from an institution/Playing Entity. Female team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for two riders from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.7 Enduro Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the individual races. Open team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for three riders from an institution/Playing Entity. Female team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for two riders from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.8 Hill Climb Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated using extracted results from the individual races. Open team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for three riders from an institution/Playing Entity. Female team placings shall be determined by the fastest aggregate time for two riders from an institution/Playing Entity.
CYC 3.9 Road Championships There will be no Overall/Extracted Team results.
CYC 3.10 Track Championships The Open Team and Female Team results will be calculated based on the results of all Championship events and shall exclude results from any filler events. The top eight finishers in each event shall contribute points towards their team's score. First place in each event shall be worth eight points, with points reducing by one for each subsequent position down to eighth place which shall be worth one point.
CYC 3 No prize money shall be awarded at any BUCS Cycling Championships.
CYC 4 The organisers of a BUCS Cycling Championships shall have the right to request that all competing institutions/Playing Entities supply a marshal. Failure to comply with such a request may result in an institution/Playing Entity’s entries being rejected and/or disqualification from the relevant Championships.
CYC 5 The disciplinary regulations and processes of the relevant International or National Governing Body for each Championships shall apply.
CYC 6 Disputes at events In line with REG 7.7, should a dispute occur at an event, the event appeal panel for Cycling shall comprise of the Event Organising Committee.
