Overview

From downhill to track cycling, students are spinning to win in the BUCS cycling programme.

With the likes of Olympians Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton (CBE) in our records, the BUCS Cycling programme is one to get involved in. 

We offer many different cycling events allowing us to create a competitive and enjoyable environment for all abilities, including para-cyclists.

Update 6 April 2021:

Hill Climb
This event will not be held in October 2020 due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19.   
We are currently exploring an alternative date for later in the season.

Track Cycling 
Unfortunately, this event will not run in the 2020-21 season.  
Due Covid-19 restrictions we cannot hold this event on the original date without ensuring the safety of our competitors, officials and staff. 


We investigated the possibility of a later date in the season however this has not been feasible. A postponed date for this event has not been feasible for the 2020-21 season.  

Downhill Mountain Biking

This event will not run as scheduled on 20-21 March 2021 due to the ongoing national restrictions in relation to Covid-19. 

A postponement date is being explored and will be updated here when a decision has been reached.

10m Time Trial

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing difficulties surrounding Covid-19 & feasibility of the event; the 10 Mile Time Trial Championships have been cancelled this year.

3-Up Team Time Trial

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing difficulties surrounding Covid-19 & feasibility of the event; the 3-Up Team Time Trial Championships have been cancelled this year.

Road Race

Unfortunately, after discussions with British Cycling & due to the ongoing national restrictions in relation to Covid-19, the Road Race scheduled for 1 May 2021 has been cancelled & will not run in the 2020-21 season.  

Update -  6 April 2021

  • 25m TT: 18 April 2021 

This event will be run in line with guidance from British Cycling & the CTT whereby events are permitted from 29 March and subject to local and national restrictions regarding COVID-19.
