Registration
Registration will open at 8:30am Belvoir Castle Long Stay Car Park (NG32 1PE) and will be open through the day.
Students MUST bring their student card to register for the event. This is where you will collect your race number and transponder.
At the conclusion of the event, you must return your transponder after your ride. If you do not return it, it will result in a £85 charge. There will be a marshal at the finish line collecting transponders.
Course Details
The Hill Climb championship will take place up Terrace Hill, a 1.1km hill with a 79m elevation gain.
Once riders have registered at the HQ, they need to cycle their way down to the Start line ready for their listed start time (5Km). It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they arrive at the start on time.
Riders will be set off every 60 seconds by marshals, starting from 10:01.
Titanium Race Timing will be providing the chip timing for the race.

Rules & Regulations
BUCS Cycling Rules and Regulations
The race is run under the rules and regulations of CTT. This means that the following is REQUIRED to take the start line. Failure to meet these requirements WILL be noted as a DNF:
-Helmet
-Working Front Light
-Working Rear Light
Local Regulations
It's important to note that this race is NOT on closed roads, although we expect minimal/no traffic and this will be marshalled. Please keep to the highway code, before, during and after your race.
Parking on the course or the road of the hill climb by spectators, competitors or helpers of competitors is prohibited. This may lead to disqualification of riders/teams. There is course side parking near the top of the hill.
Presentations
There will be full presentations for each category between 15:20 and 15:30 at the registration tent. Please do not hassle the timekeepers or event management before the presentations for results. A live timing link will be sent out prior to the event to all competitors to view live chip timing results. Results will only be verified and finalised at the presentation.

Additional Information
Spectating
We highly encourage spectators on the climb to create an exciting and memorable atmosphere. We ask all spectators to please be respectful of all other traffic wishing to drive on the road and remind all that parking on the road of the race is prohibited. A small car park near the top of the climb can be used, but it is recommended to cycle to the course to spectate.
Changing Facilities/ Disability Access
There will be inside toilets that can be used for changing located at the car park cafe, and outside portable toilets located at the registration tent.
Food & Drink
There is a café located within the car park that will be staffed to serve coffee and tea etc’ all day. It is recommended to bring your own food and drink with no other local amenities.

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event

- All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
- We have used local suppliers where possible
- Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use
- We will print on demand merchandise (if applicable)
- We are beginning to track our carbon footprint across BUCS events to identify areas of improvement.
How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:
- Be self-sufficient by bringing your own refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste
- Ensure you are disposing of waste correctly – Check around the venue for specific recycling and food waste bins
- Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport
