EVENT VOLUNTEERING FOR STUDENTS

BUCS runs over 120 individual events for 50 sports across UK each year. For a full list of events we deliver and their dates please see this page. If you are a student and interested in volunteering at an individual BUCS event please fill out the form on this page. Applications for BUCS Nationals should be completed on the form below.

MAJOR EVENT STUDENT VOLUNTEERING

BUCS runs two major events in the year. BUCS Nationals (12-14 February 2027 in Sheffield) and BUCS Big Wednesday (23-24 March 2027 at Loughborough University). We recruit volunteers from the Sheffield area for BUCS Nationals, and work with Loughborough University to appoint volunteers through their student workforce.

Join the team behind one the UK’s biggest student sporting events, supporting over 4,200 student athletes competing across six sports at venues throughout Sheffield.

What You’ll Do

Record and verify competition results
Support medal ceremonies
Assist officials and event staff
Help maintain competitions areas and equipment
Contribute to the smooth running of the event

We’re Looking For

Enthusiastic and reliable volunteers
Strong communicators with attention to detail
Team players who can follow instructions
Comfortable using technology such as iPads
