Update on Sport Specific Affiliations
The BUCS Executive are currently working through the sport specific affiliation requirements for the 2020-21 leagues and knockouts programme to ensure that they are updated and ready to be issued ahead of competition in Term Two. Where an affiliation or membership is needed to compete, this will involve a hard deadline of, at the latest, the first official BUCS competition/fixture date. However, we advise clubs to take out NGB affiliations in team sports earlier than this as they normally would to ensure they can take advantage of the support provided by NGBs. These sports are:
- American Football
- Basketball
- Fencing
- Football
- Futsal
- Lacrosse
- Rugby League
- Ultimate
- Volleyball
The 2019-20 information remains below to assist institutions with understanding which affiliations will be required - there are currently no planned changes to requirements for 2020-21, however this is subject to change.
The majority of the items in each section are compulsory requirements that MUST be undertaken to compete in the 2020-21 season, and as a result, most carry sanctions if not completed by the published deadlines. However, there are also some others which are not compulsory requirements but that BUCS believes are valuable for members to undertake. Please read the details associated with each one for further information. Deadlines will ONLY be listed here, not on the sport specific pages or in the rules and regulations.
You can also download all affiliation information here:
Please note that this information is subject to change. Should any updates be required then the document will be re-published, and Institution Administrators will be notified via e-mail.
