Launched at BUCS Conference 2026, we are pleased to share two guidance documents on Sport-Related Concussion in Higher Education.

Sport-Related Concussion in Higher Education has been produced as a practical framework to support safer sport across higher education, alongside A Best Practice Model for the Management of Sport-Related Concussion in UK Higher Education.

The BUCS Concussion Group was established to support universities, students' unions and sport providers in creating concussion-conscious environments that prioritise the safety and wellbeing of students participating in sport.

This publication provides general guidance on the management of sport-related concussion within higher education settings. It is intended to develop safer participation environments and promote good practice in concussion awareness and management.

This document provides general guidance only and does not constitute medical advice. Institutions and individuals should continue to follow the latest guidance issued by the UK Government, the NHS, NICE and the relevant National Governing Bodies when managing sport-related concussion.
