The programme is being run as a pilot with the aim of supporting a number of Student Officers across the BUCS membership in their role over the next year, helping them recognise and maximise their learning in all development opportunities.
Student Officers will be offered a supportive one-to-one relationship with a mentor working within the higher education sector, that has the time and ability to develop the potential of the individual. Priority will be given to those Student Officers whose role focuses on developing the sport, physical activity and/or active wellbeing opportunities for students at their institution. Matches will be made linked to motivations, values, experience and mentoring style preferences.
Further information on the mentoring programme can be viewed here.
How to apply
Any Student Officer interested in being part of the programme will need to submit information via the online mentee expression of interest form.
We are inviting colleagues working in the higher education sector who have managerial experience and interested in becoming a mentor on the programme to complete the mentor expression of interest form. Previous mentoring experience is not essential, but individuals will need to demonstrate that they have the time and skill set to fulfil the role.
All expressions of interest need to be submitted by MIDDAY on Friday 31 July. All those that submit interest will be notified of the outcome in August.
If you have any questions please contact Amy Porter, BUCS Head of Development.
