BUCS Club Committee Leaders Programme

The BUCS Club Committee Leaders programme is a national development initiative designed to help student club committee members gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to lead their university sports clubs effectively and sustainably. Each year BUCS hosts three regional events, one each for universities in the North, Midlands, and South regions respectively. These one-day gatherings bring together committee leaders from across each region to share ideas, learn practical skills, and strengthen connections.

What the Day Involves

Participants take part in interactive workshops, practical sessions, and networking opportunities that focus on:

  • Leadership: building the confidence to guide and motivate club members and fellow committee leaders.

  • Club Management: learning how to plan, organise, and communicate for long-term success.

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: strengthening how committees work together and with their universities to achieve shared goals.

By the end of the event, attendees will:

  • Gain practical tools and strategies to use immediately in their roles.

  • Build connections with committee leaders and staff from across their region.

  • Enhance the long-term success and sustainability of their clubs.

  • Understand the support available from BUCS and their university.

Whether you are stepping into a committee role for the first time or looking to refine your leadership skills, the programme provides insight and confidence to make a real impact this year and beyond.
