Schedule and Spectators

This event will be a one day event, taking place on Friday 11th November 2022.

There will also be no spectators at this event, due to facility requests. Competitors involved in the competition will be allowed to spectate whilst not racing/competing.

Entry Allowance

This event is limited to a maximum of 500 competitors. The ski racing competition will be limited to a maximum of 300, due to time constraints.

Institutions can request up to 100 non-guaranteed entries in both the male and female events and 10 guaranteed. The 10 guaranteed will be selected in rank order.  Institution administrators must rank competitors in order of preference when submitting entries, e.g 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. If the event reaches capacity, BUCS will restrict entries and this will be done equally across instituions.

This means when submitting entries on BUCS Play, for both the Men’s competition and Women’s competition, competitors should be ranked in order of preference before being submitted. The overall team entry is listed as free to reflect that this simply provides a full list of an institution's competitors.

Please also ensure that Duals entries are ranked to reflect a complete team, i.e 1, 1, 1, 1 to show the competitors who make up one team, 2, 2, 2, 2 for another, and so on.

Star Racers and Registered Racers

The following applies to Ski Race only:

Registered Racers

All BARTS registered racers should declare their number on their entries to assist with seeding. All registered racers with below 300 points will automatically qualify for GS, provided they compete in the Slalom.

Star Racers

Each insitution can name a male and female star racer. This racer should be their best non registered racer (not in possesion of a BARTS and have below 300 points). Star racers will automatically qualify for GS, provided they compete in the Slalom.

To select a star racer please ensure they are ranked as number 1 in your ski race selections.

Novice Entries

BUDS will hold a novice competition in each event. These will compete with the main field with results extracted for novice medalists.

The novice competition is designed for entry level athletes and carries no BUCS points. There will be no Novice GS and Snowboard KO.

Withdrawals

Competitor withdrawals must be made by a competitor's institutional administrator emailing Harry Spinks, the BUCS Event Coordinator.

Withdrawals before the entry deadline (20 October 2022 at 23:59 [stage one]) will not be charged.

Withdrawals after the entry deadline (20 October 2022 at 23:59 [stage one]) and before 23:59 on the 27 October 2022 will still be charged the entry fee.

Competitors who do not withdraw before 23:59 on the 27 October 2022 and do not attend the competition will be classed as a late withdrawal/no show and therefore will be charged the entry fee. They will also be fined £50 which will be charged after the event, to the competitor’s athletic union.

Should BUCS have to open stage two entries then new deadlines for withdrawals will be published. Reserves will only be charged an entry fee if they are accepted into the competition.

Please see our Withdrawal Policy for more details.
