Positioning of Race Numbers

Ensure that your numbers are positioned as demonstrated in the diagram on both left and right side. This will ensure that both the Commissaires and Timing Box are able to identify you correctly. If you have a no pins skin suit, please ensure that your numbers are at the furthest most points of the outer sides. Unidentifiable numbers will result in relegations to the end of the race result.

General Information

Pop Up Concession

Brooks Cycles will have a concession store located within Track Centre. Tony will be holding stock of all your track essentials and be on hand for any mechanical needs too.

Race Queries

If you wish to query the result of a race, this needs to be made within 30 minutes of the completion of said race. All queries must be made directly to Jo Dabbs  (Tournament Director) who will take the request and detail the specifics to the Race Jury. All decisions from the race jury are final.

Bike Storage

There is strictly no access to track centre until Friday evening at 18.00pm when the venue opens for any riders or support teams associated to the BUCS event. Do not attempt to gain access to set up pens or leave equipment before this point as there are events taking place. This is non-negotiable and applies to everyone. If you wish to leave your bike within track centre overnight on the Friday and Saturday, you do so at your own risk. The venue nor event organisers take responsibility for any unattended equipment over this period.

Withdrawals

Please note a change to the 'Team' substitution policy below

Substitutions will only be permitted in the Individual Points races, the Team Pursuit races, and the Team Sprint races. The following shall apply in regard to who shall be an eligible substitute and when substitutions can be made:

Individual Points races: Any individual entered into another event at the Championships who meets the gender eligibility criteria.

Team Pursuit and Team Sprint races: Any individual who has entered the relevant event (Female Team Pursuit, Female Team Sprint, Open Team Pursuit, or Open Team Sprint) via BUCS Play shall be eligible to act as a substitute for their institution. There is no limit to the number of individuals an institution can have entered for each team, therefore any rider who may be required as a substitute should ensure they are entered.

If an institution wishes to make a substitution after the heats have finished, the substitution may only be made to the institution’s lowest-ranked team, from which riders may then be promoted to higher-ranked teams (for example, if a 1st team member is withdrawn - substitute enters 3rd team, 3rd team member promoted to 2nd team, 2nd team member promoted to 1st team).

Once a rider has competed, they are still eligible to be moved up to a higher-ranked team (for example, from Team 2 to Team 1); however, a rider who has competed for a higher-ranked team may not subsequently move down to a lower-ranked team (such as from Team 1 to Team 2). Each rider is permitted to change teams only once during the competition and may not compete for more than one team within the same stage (Heat or Final)

Withdrawals

Prior to entries closing, withdrawals can be made free of charge. After the IA deadline has passed (Thursday 12th February 2026), no refunds will be given for withdrawals. All withdrawals must be sent to your institution and emailed to Joe O’Loughlin

Please see REG 7.9 for our full withdrawal policy

Fines

Any riders/team that 'Do Not Show' (DNS) for their race, will be subject to a £100.00 fine.

Photography & Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event

BUCS Points & Presentations

Please read Appendix 1 in conjunction with Regulation 6 for a full breakdown of BUCS Points available.

Ramadan

This event is taking place during Ramadan (17th February - 19th March). We are aware that there may be competitors who are observing Ramadan and require a quiet place to pray. We have designated a meeting room within the venue for anyone who wishes to use it. Please speak with the event staff at Registration who can direct you to this room.

Anymore questions regarding this please contact Joe O'Loughlin
