ENTRY COSTS
Stage 1 entry fee: £17.75
STAGED ENTRY
We should be running a stage 2 process for this event if entries do not exceed capacity.
Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.

Para Cycling
Para-cyclist results will be extracted from the main field of results on completion of the race and awarded placings in the ‘Para-Cycling Championships’. This placing is based on the UCI factoring table, with separate Men’s and Women’s para-competitions.
Para Cyclists results will also be shown within the main field and, if eligible, non-extracted times will be included in team points.
Currently the Hill Climb Championships is open to Para Cyclists who use a standard bicycle with sport classes C1-C5.
If you are a Para Cyclist that would like to take part but are not C1-C5, please contact Jude Pickett at the earliest convenience. If you believe you are a para-cyclists but you yet to be classified, please get in contact or approach your institution administer.
As per REG 6.1.2.1.7, a competitor in the Para Cycling Championships must have beaten a fellow competitor within the same competition to be eligible for BUCS points, but all competitors finishing in the top three for any race will be awarded a BUCS medal.
Competition format
In these championships, competitors race against the clock to secure the fastest time up the hill climb route as detailed above.

Team
Individuals will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team. Please note the following team compositions:
Men’s Overall Team – The team placing shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for three riders from the same institution.
Women’s Overall Team – The team placing shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for two riders from the same institution.
Entry Process
To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:
- Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list
BUCS Cycling

Entry Allowance
Institutions are permitted an unlimited number of non-guaranteed entries. Institutions must rank their competitors on BUCS Play in order of preference before the closing date. Should BUCS need to restrict entries, this will be done equally across institutions.
Where applicable all Para Athletes will be guaranteed entries.
No entries will be accepted on the day or after the closing deadline.
BUCS Points
BUCS Points can be found here
BUCS points will not be allocated where:
- The minimum number of competitors has not been reached
- Where there are not enough individual scores to extract a team score.
- An individual/team must have beaten another individual/team to score BUCS points (i.e. if three individuals finish an event, only two will score BUCS points).
