Course details
The Hill Climb Championships will take place up Terrace Hill, a 1.1km hill with a 79m elevation gain.
Once riders have registered at the HQ, they need to cycle to the start line ready for their listed start time.The race start is 5km from the car park. Please allow adequate time for arrival at the start line. The route will be signposted. https://www.strava.com/routes/3020815553999488274
Riders will be set off every 60 seconds by marshals from 10:01.
Titanium Race Timing will be providing the chip timing for the race.
To avoid congestion on the climb, it is recommended riders proceed from the finish back to the HQ on the following route and do not ride back down the climb. This will again be signposted. This is just 3.3Km. https://www.strava.com/routes/3020815729733358866

Registration
Registration will open at 8:30am Belvoir Castle Long Stay Car Park (NG32 1PE) and will be open through the day.
You must register at least 30 mins before your start time, if you do not you will be classified a DNS and will still be charged the entry fee.
Students must bring their student card to register for the event. This is where you will collect your race number and transponder.
Your race number must be pinned to the back of your jersey, whilst the transponder should be attached to the front fork of your bicycle (either side).
At the conclusion of the event, you must return your transponder after your ride. If you do not return it, it will result in a £85 charge.

Local Regulations
It's important to note that this race is NOT on closed roads, although we expect minimal/no traffic and this will be marshalled. Please keep to the highway code, before, during and after your race.
Competitors and team personnel are NOT to park on any section of Wood Lane. This is a narrow road, and we cannot block the road for other road users. Failure to adhere to this could lead to rider disqualification.
Parking
You will need to pay to park in the Main Castle Car Park (Long Stay).
The charges are as follows:
- £1.20 per hour
- £6 all day
You can pay at any point throughout your stay, however unless paying for all day parking, we advise you pay on exit so you know how many hours are owed. When you arrive at Belvoir, please read the signage properly and adjust the machines using the + and – buttons to enter the amount of hours you require during your stay.
PLEASE NOTE: the machines do not calculate how much is owed, it is down to the individual to note what time you enter the car park and therefore how much to pay.

Rules and Regulations
The BUCS Cycling & Para Cycling Hill Climb Championships shall be conducted in accordance with the BUCS sport specific regulations, the BUCS general regulations, and the rules of Cycling Time Trials (CTT).
All bikes must adhere to these regulations including a working front AND rear light. All riders must also wear a helmet for the duration of their hill climb. Riders presenting to the start line with no working lights or helmet will not be allowed to start.
Spectators
Spectating will be allowed on the climb, but we ask all spectators to be extremely mindful and respectful to other members of the public and be aware they are spectating on an open road.

Withdrawals
Competitors who withdraw after the entry deadline will still be charged the entry fee.
Competitors who are accepted in stage 1 and withdrawal after the stage 1 entry deadline will still be charged the entry fee, regardless of the stage 2 window still being open.
Competitors who are accepted into stage 2 and withdraw after the stage 2 entry deadline will still be charged the Stage 2 entry fee.
Competitors who withdraw after 23:59 on Wednesday 2nd November 2022, and/or do not attend registration will be classed as a late withdrawal/no show and therefore will be charged the entry fee and will also be fined £20 which will be charged after the event to the competitors athletic union.
Should a withdrawal be accompanied with a valid doctor's note, no fine will be given but the entry fee will still be charged.

Please do not disturb the timekeepers at the finish line. They will not give you a time.
Presentations
Prize giving will take place at the end of the event after the final rider has completed the course. The presentation will occur at Belvoir Castle where the HQ is situated.
Medals will be awarded for 1st/2nd/3rd the following:
- Men's Individual
- Men's Individual Para-Cycling
- Women's Individual
- Women's Individual Para-Cycling
Individuals will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team. Please note the following team compositions:
- Men’s Overall Team – The team placing shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for three riders from the same institution.
- Women’s Overall Team – The team placing shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for two riders from the same institution.
