We are entering the second season of the American Football National League. The National League was introduced at the start of the 2024-25 season following a Competition Format change process that went through an extensive membership consultation period. The aim of the National Leage was to create a high-quality competition structure that delivers exceptional student sporting experiences by facilitating best vs best competition, whilst also balancing out the leagues lower down the pyramid.
The National League currently consists of 5 teams playing each other twice (home and away), with the top placed team being crowned league winners. At the conclusion of the league season, the top 4 teams will progress to the National Championship which concludes at BUCS Big Wednesday. At the end of the season, the 5th placed team will play in a playoff game against the winner of the National Vase to fight to retain their spot in the National League.
