Rules & Regulations:

The BUCS Indoor Cricket regulations for the 2025-26 season are now live here.

The regulations are generally the same as they were for the 2024-25 season, but a key change to highlight is that in line with the Gender Eligibility criteria for these Championships, they have been renamed from “Men’s” and “Women’s” to “Open” and Female”.

The terminology used in the regulations has been amended to reflect this, but this also means that where an individual is eligible for the Female category and the Open category, they can compete in either or both Championships. This is a change from where there was previously a regulation (ICR 4.4) which contained restrictions regarding “women playing in men’s teams”. The league names on BUCS Play have also been changed to reflect this and we are working on changing individual team names.

We would also like to remind teams of ICR 4.1 regarding team selection and team sheets. ICR 4.1 applies REG 11.1 and REG 11.2 to the Indoor Cricket Championships, with key points to be aware of being the requirement to complete team sheets for all fixtures and for institutions with multiple teams entered, the normality regulations (REG 11.1.2.2) and that an individual is not permitted to compete for multiple teams on the same day (REG 11.1.2.1). As per ICR 14, the aim is that any issues relating to these will be resolved on the day, but if they can’t be, there are mechanisms in REG 11 through which they can be reported to BUCS.
