Across the UK, student athletes love picking up a racket every week to get involved in the BUCS Badminton programme.

BUCS Badminton is a great sport to relieve stress, keep fit and socialise with friends. One of the largest programmes on offer and it is a part of the two major BUCS event.

There are over 300 teams playing in the leagues each Wednesday with the season finishing at BUCS Big Wednesday. The BUCS Nationals sees individual championships take place, as over 700 students compete for the major title.

The BUCS Badminton Programme is supported by BUCS Badminton partners Ashaway.

Update on the 2020-21 Season

Individual Championships
The format, date and venue of this event are under review by BUCS, the Badminton Sports Advisory Group and Badminton England.

Leagues and Knockouts

The Badminton league programme will run in Term Two only and there will not be any promotion or relegation between leagues at the end of the season. These decisions were communicated with our members in June.

The format for the programme has been confirmed to members and the 2020-21 leagues and fixtures will be released on Friday 15 January. Fixtures will be scheduled from 17 February, but these will be flexible to individual institutional requirements.

All fixtures will be subject to any institutional, NGB, UK government, devolved administration or local authority rules, regulations and guidance in relation to COVID-19 in place at the time.
