Today we announce the new strategic direction to carry forward UK university sport.

For over 100 years, we have been at the forefront of university sport in the UK. We’ve seen wins and losses, rivalries and friendships. We’ve survived a global pandemic, and have celebrated the very best of student sport.

And now, it’s time to launch our new strategy, embedding sport and active wellbeing at the heart of student life.

Our ambition? To deliver exceptional student sporting experiences that inspire, develop and unite.

We want to empower everyone involved in university sport, be it as an athlete, coach, staff member, volunteer or official, and that begins with bold ambitions in our new four-year strategy.

The focus starts with four key pillars; competition, people development, data and digital, and active wellbeing. The collective power, energy and commitment of our member institutions are the key ingredient that will unlock the impact of the plan. Higher education sport around the UK is in great shape, but there is more to come.

Now more than ever, athletes are aware of their social impact and integrity, and we recognise the platform that sport provides to inspire change.

So, whether you are here for three years, 10 years, or devote a lifetime to higher education, we hope this strategy inspires you to work together to produce the very best of university sport.
