The newly branded Speedo and BUCS Swimming series gets underway this weekend with the first event in the 2019-20 series.

The weekend will see 1,750 athletes from 92 institutions descend on Ponds Forge International Swimming Centre.

The event has something for everyone. From newer swimmers to professional athletes all competing to be crowned the best student swimmers in the UK.

Notable names at the event include Olympic athlete and BUCS Sportsman of the year 2019 Duncan Scott from The University of Stirling and Northumbria. Para-swimmer Claire Cashmore who was recently nominated for the 2019 Sunday Times Sportswoman of the year, is also competing.

It will also be the first time that the entire weekend will be live streamed through BUCS Facebook and Youtube Channels.

BUCS are welcoming Speedo as new headline partners of the event. The global and iconic swimming brand will be at all events in the series offering fantastic prizes, activations and the latest bespoke event merchandise for all competitors.

As well as headline partners Speedo, BUCS will be joined by supporting partners Bright Network & Camp America.

Bright Network have helped over 14,000 students secure roles at over 300 firms to date and are attending their first BUCS event this year.

Camp America are the largest student camp organisation in the world and are returning to their third BUCS Swimming event. They provide students international opportunities to qualify and work as lifeguards in their camps across the USA. Camp America are currently looking to recruit high numbers of quality swimmers for their summer camps in 2020.
