Our annual Awards ceremony was filled with glitz and glam as the BUCS membership arrived for the black-tie event.
Ahead of announcing our 2025 winners, Sam Bell-Minogue, BUCS Deputy CEO and Director of Sport, recognised several members that will be leaving the sector, who have dedicated at least ten years’ service to higher education sport.
Sam also paid tribute to a dear friend and colleague of many in the sector who sadly passed away earlier in the year. Barry Squires was the Head of Sport at the University of Brighton and Chair of English Universities Sport. He was also a great advocate of the higher education sport sector and all that BUCS and its members do.
We had 39 shortlisted nominees across 13 different categories. They were, Active Wellbeing Programme, AD Munrow, Chris Potter Student Volunteer of the Year, Club of the Year, Coach of the Year, Dan Porter, Digital Engagement, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, Team of the Year, Unsung Hero and Workforce Development.
