Entry Allowance

Institutions can request an unlimited number of entries, however should the event reach capacity BUCS may need to restrict the number of entries per institution. Therefore when submitting entries on BUCS Play, entries should be ranked in order of preference of entry before being submitted. Should BUCS need to restrict per this will be done equally across institutions. (Where applicable all Para Athletes will be guaranteed entries).

Apparatus

TRA: Ultimate 4x4
DMT: Ultimate 6x6

Trampoline and DMT apparatus is kindly supplied by Gymaid.  The above specification shall be in use for all levels of competition.

Competitors at all levels must have sufficient experience and orientation on apparatus of these specifications prior to the event.

Entry Check Process

Once entries are approved, BUCS will compile an accepted report for all entries for all institutions. The accepted entry report will be posted on the event page shortly after entries close.

Institutions must review this report very carefully and provide amendments within five days of publication. Permissible changes include errors only, such as category, gender, and spelling of names. Competitors cannot be added or removed in this window unless additions are submitted within the stage two entry window (if applicable).

Amendments must be sent by your institution to [email protected]. Amendments received directly from clubs or individuals will not be processed.

Entry Matrix

The entry matrices provides a comparison between competition levels at BUCS and other structures.

Competitors should use the relevant matrix to determine the correct category to enter for their level, and only in exceptional circumstances may a competitor compete in a category lower than the assigned equivalent category (by application, and at the discretion of BUCS). For categories with crossover between multiple categories in other structures, or for structures not listed, reference should be made to the highest difficulty attempted in competition and the difficulty levels of the corresponding BUCS categories. Please note that the trampoline matrix also applies to competitors in synchronised trampoline pairs, including where one or both of the members of the pair are not entered into individual trampoline.

If a competitor has previously entered a level/competed an exercise with a difficulty higher than the BUCS category they wish to enter (including equivalent levels in other structures not listed) within the preceding 12 months, or anticipates to enter such a level within 6 months of the event, a formal application must be made to BUCS if they wish to downgrade. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification without right to appeal.

BUCS retains the right to disqualify or reallocate any person(s) for any reason which leads BUCS to form the reasonable opinion that an individual/pair/team/entry are entered incorrectly or in a manner contrary to fair and/or safe competition.

The Trampoline entry matrix can be found here

Provision of Officials

Institutions are required to submit officials as follows, for each day of competition:

1-2 entries:
None required.

3-5 entries:
At least one full-day qualified judge; and
At least one full-day official of any role.

6+ entries:
At least two full-day qualified judges; and
At least one full-day official of any role.

Qualified roles: Chair of Judges, Execution, Difficulty, HDTS Device

Unqualified roles: Score Manager, Video Recorder, Marshall

For the avoidance of doubt, these requirements are for full-day judges who must be available on both days of the event (though two different people can judge, one day each). Roles may not be shared between more than one person within a day, and competitor officials must only be selected to officiate on a day they are not due to compete according to the provisional timetable.

In addition to these requirements, institutions entering competitors in Double Mini-Trampoline must ensure that at least one of the qualified judges provided are qualified or competent to judge DMT.

Officials must be entered with their qualification level and role preference. Failure to provide the minimum requirements, or this information, will result in an institution’s entry being invalidated without refund.

A cycle 14 (2017-2021) or cycle 15 (2022-2024) British Gymnastics judging qualification/revalidation certificate is required for all qualified roles, which will be checked against British Gymnastics’ records. Evidence of a judge’s British Gymnastics qualification may be requested. Submission of judges with other non-British Gymnastics judging qualifications or certificates are expressly not valid for this event and will result in an institution’s entry being invalidated.

Officials Submission Form

Please download and complete the officials submission form here

Once completed please submit your officials via the link here before the entry closing date. Failure to do so on time, or with incomplete information/insufficient numbers, will result in your institution’s entry being rejected without refund.

Guest Entries

If the event has capacity, non-student and non-BUCS institution student guests will be permitted to enter all categories.

If you are an alumni, please enter as a ‘Guest’ on BUCS Play.

Guest scores will not accrue or contribute towards BUCS points, and guests will not be eligible for medals for ranking purposes.

Please note that guest entries are provisional and may be subject to withdrawal if the event reaches capacity with BUCS student entries.

BUCS Points

The BUCS points for the Championships can be found here in Appendix 1.

Individuals across all TRA categories (including BUCS Disability) will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team.  For each of the Men’s and Women’s team event, the team placing shall be determined by the highest cumulative qualification round scores for three gymnasts from the same institution.

Please note that BUCS points will not be allocated where the minimum number of competitors has not been reached, and where there are not enough individual scores to extract a team score. Furthermore, an individual/team/pair must have beaten another individual/team/pair to score BUCS points. Similarly, medals will be awarded according to the accrual of BUCS Points. For example, if there are only three entries in an event, only Gold and Silver medals will be awarded.
