Entries will need to be submitted via the Rowing 22-23 Sport Community section of BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here). Students/Competitors will not be able to apply for their boat unless an IA has entered the relevant boat on BUCS Play.
  2. A Team Captain must be selected by your Institution Administrator and added to your Team before entries close (Instructions on how to do this can be found here).
  3. Competitors need to apply for their respective boat category on BUCS Play through the Event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  4. Competitors must also apply to join their Institutions Competitors Reserve List, which can be found within the Event. This is strongly advised as well as joining your respective team.
  5. Approving entries does not take place on the Dashboard. IAs/Team Captains will need to locate the team within the Event Teams section of the Rowing 22-23 Community and manually move the selected students into the Squad. (help guide: Adding team members into the squad of an event team)

Withdrawals & Substitutions

Institutions can only make substitutions to their boats from competitors included on the reserve lists or included in another crew. The reserve lists must be entered via BUCS Play before the entry closing date (Thursday 9 February 2023 at 23:59). Institutions cannot make substitutions directly via BUCS Play.

Upon close of entries, club representatives (Coach/Captain/President) will be required to register for the competition management system where they will be able to administer their crews and make substitutions.

Withdrawal of boats after the entry closing date (Tuesday 7 February 2023) will still be charged the entry fee as per our Withdrawal Policy.

Please note that all scratches / withdrawals must now be made online by the institution rowing club captain or coach. Crews who do not withdraw, and do not compete at the event, will be classified as a ‘no-show’ and charged the entry fee and an additional £20 fine payable by the athletic union or students’ union as detailed in BUCS Withdrawal Policy.

If a crew wishes to withdraw on the day, they should scratch using the system a minimum of 30 minutes before the published start time of their time trial. Failure to do so may result in the boat being classed as a ‘no-show’ and the additional fine being imposed, as detailed above.

Competitors should also inform their institution they have withdrawn from the competition.
