The Stirling International will be the first R&A Student Tour Series event and first BUCS Golf Tour event for 2022-23.

With the state funeral for Her Majesty The Queen taking place on Monday 19 September, the BUCS Stirling International will now commence on Tuesday 20 September.

It is not possible to play the full 54 holes as we cannot guarantee the staff or facilities for the Thursday. Both the Stirling International and Midlands Tournament will be shortened to 36 holes.

The 36 holes will be completed across two-days, with round one on Tuesday 20 and round two on Wednesday 21.

Round 1: Tee Times 07:00 - 12:12, random order

Round 2: Tee Times 09:32 - 14:14, reverse score order

There will be no cut for this event.

The draw is likely to take place over the weekend (17/18 September) to allow for flexibility given the circumstances.

Practice

Practice rounds are available as a cost of £35 on Sunday 18 September. These should be booked directly with the club.

Registration

Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before starting Round 1. Competitors are encouraged to register as soon as they arrive at the venue. Registration will be located in the clubhouse, players must register on each day of the competition.

Competitors must show their student ID on arrival. Competitors who do not register may have their tee time withdrawn. Players need to come to registration area each day to collect their scorecard.

Competitors are encouraged to use and update golfbox for their scoring so the tournament can provide up to date live scoring.

As per the rules of golf, competitors who do not show for their tee time will be disqualified.

Each participant will be issued with a course guide prior to starting.

There will be 2 officials on the course each day following the playing groups around.

Order of Merit

This event forms part of the BUCS Golf Tour and Macpherson Order of Merit 2022-23.

BUCS Macpherson Order of Merit points for qualification to the BUCS Golf Tour Finals will be awarded to the top 20 men and top 20 women as detailed within the BUCS Golf rules and regulations.

Player Conduct

Players must not wear caps or golf shoes inside the clubhouse at any time and must adhere to the rules of the golf club/clubhouse.

Two referees will follow the groups during the competition ensuring all BUCS/SSS regulations are adhered to. Any misbehaviour or foul language from the competitors reported by officials or venue staff will be taken extremely seriously by BUCS/SSS and competitors risk penalties or disqualification from the event.

Withdrawals

Competitors withdrawing during the competition must inform Luke Gallen, stating their reason for withdrawal. Any withdrawals after the IA approval deadline (Thursday 8 September 2022) will still be charged the entry fee.

Competitors must also inform their institution they have withdrawn from the competition. Any competitor who does not show up to register for their opening round will be considered a no show and their institution will be fined £50 in addition to the entry fee for the event.
