EVENT GUIDE

Registration

Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before starting Round 1. Competitors are encouraged to register as soon as they arrive at the venue. Registration will be located in the Clubhouse.

Competitors must show their student ID on arrival. Competitors who do not register may have their tee time withdrawn. Players need to come to registration area each day to collect their scorecard.

Competitors are encouraged to use and update Golfbox for their scoring so the tournament can provide up to date live scoring.

As per the rules of golf, competitors who do not show for their tee time will be disqualified.

Timetable

All rounds will take place on the Championship Course

Round 1 (Monday): Starting at 09:36, 8-minute intervals, groups of 3, random order.

Round 2 (Tuesday): Starting at 09:36, 8-minute intervals, groups of 3, reverse score order.

Round 3 (Wednesday): Starting at 11:20, 8-minute intervals, groups of 3, reverse score order.

  • Tee times will be emailed out through Golfbox and will be available on the 'Tee times/results' tab.
  • The Male Championship will be off the white tees and the Female Championship will be off the red tees
  • There will be a cut after round 2 in the Male competition to the tope 33 players - no ties
  • There will be no cut for Female players

Practice Rounds

Practice Rounds are available to book directly through the club shop. These must be booked and paid for in advance with the club shop and are the responsibility of the player to finance. Participants can call and book a tee time up to 7 days in advance.

Driving Range

One driving range token will be provided to each competitor on each day of the competition free of charge.

Pin Positions

Pin positions will be changed after the first day of competition. A copy will be available at the BUCS registration desk.

Order of Merit

This event forms part of the BUCS Golf Tour and Macpherson Order of Merit 2025-26.

BUCS Macpherson Order of Merit points for qualification to the BUCS Golf Tour Finals will be awarded to the top 20 men and top 20 women as detailed within the BUCS Golf rules and regulations.

Rules and Regulations

The BUCS Golf Championships shall be conducted in accordance with the following BUCS sport specific regulations, the BUCS general regulations, the R&A Rules of Golf and such Local Rules and Conditions of Competition as shall be approved by BUCS. Further event specific requirements, rules, and regulations will be contained within the entry and pre-event information for each Championship.

In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by card countback of the member of the team with the lowest score. This will be the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole as needed. If there is still a tie, then the last six holes, three holes and final hole of the first nine holes will be considered in turn.

General conditions

Use of electronic equipment In all BUCS competitions throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect their play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player will be in breach of Rule 14-3 of the Rules of Golf.

All BUCS competitions throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will permit the use of manual or powered caddy cars. However, the use of buggies remains forbidden (with the exception of certified medical exemption).

A competitor may use a caddy during a round, but the caddy must not receive payment of any form for their service.

Course Information

Yardages for Male and Female tees

GOL 4.1 Course requirements All BUCS Regional Golf competitions will be held on a golf course of appropriate quality which regularly hosts amateur matches of similar standard. Males will compete from an officially measured Males’ tee (or officially measured winter tee) and Females will compete from an officially measured Females’ tee (or officially measured winter tee). Yardages will be determined by the BUCS Executive in conjunction with the 3rd party delivery partner and venue,

Withdrawals

Competitors withdrawing during the competition must inform Maddi Cannell, stating their reason for withdrawal. Any withdrawals after the IA approval deadline (Thursday 26 February 2026) will still be charged the entry fee.

Competitors must also inform their institution they have withdrawn from the competition. Any competitor who does not show up to register for their opening round will be considered a no show and their institution will be fined £50 in addition to the entry fee for the event.

Food / Drink

Food and drink can be purchased from the clubhouse bar throughout the duration of the competition.

Presentations

Medal presentations will take place at the conclusion of the competition on Wednesday 18th March 2026.

Photography and Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
