Overview
All BUCS ski race competitions are seeded, where possible, under the national seeding systems managed by GB Snowsport. These are BARTS (British ARTificial Seeding) for dryslope and indoor events, and BASS (British Alpine Seeding System) for snow.
Competitor Licence
To be seeded, a competitor must have a valid competitor licence for the season within which the event takes place. This involves registering with a Home Nations Governing Body, either Snowsport England, Scotland, or Wales.
Please ensure you register in good time ahead of events, and in any case before the publication of the seed list that will be used for an event. See gbski.com/seeding.php for more information.
Snowsport England (SSE)
To be registered for seeding with SSE, competitors must have a valid Red Compete membership. This can be purchased at snowsportengland.sport80.com/public/wizard/a/1144/home. Note that only the Red Compete or Black memberships are eligible for seeding. See snowsportengland.org.uk/membership-details/ for more information.
Once registered, in your membership profile, you must also set up your ‘Seeding Affiliation’ club. Without this, your name will not appear on the seed list!
Snowsport Scotland (SSS)
You need a Competitor Membership to be seeded with SSS. For more information, and to purchase, see snowsportscotland.org/competitor.
Snowsport Wales (SSW)
You need a Competitor Membership to be seeded with SSW. For more information, and to purchase, see snowsportwales.com/membership/.
