Overview

From the track to the field, the BUCS Athletics programme attracts over 5,000 competitors each year to five different events.

BUCS Athletics provides a competitive environment for all. From the elite athletes to creating a friendly atmosphere for novices, we welcome athletes of all abilities to take part in these events.

In the Indoor and Outdoor Championships, we have opportunities for disabled athletes to take part and compete in the parallel success programme.

Update 13 April 2021:

Outdoor Athletics

Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 BUCS Outdoor Athletics Championships.

We have been working with England Athletics and UKA to try and get the event running after the postponement in May. However, given the current circumstances and working through potential entries, budgets & venues, the event is not viable for us to run this season taking all these factors into consideration.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly & this is an event we have been working hard on to try and find a solution that would mean it could run, however it simply isn’t possible this year.

Hopefully heading into the 2021-22 season we can get some return to normal & have the full schedule of Cross Country, Indoor Athletics & Outdoor Athletics next season.

We look forward to welcoming athletes back next year.

Indoor Championships
Unfortunately, this event will not run in the 2020-21 season.
The uncertainty around large indoor events coupled with the impact of Covid19 it is not viable for BUCS to run this event in its previous format this season.
We are working with England Athletics to look at possible opportunities around this.

Cross Country

The BUCS Cross Country Championships 2020-21 have been cancelled. Due to the ongoing restrictions regarding Covid-19 it is not feasible to run this event as planned. We look forward to welcoming our runners back in the 2021/22 season.
