This partnership represents an exciting step in the continued growth and professional delivery of multisport opportunities within higher education. Working closely with Pentathlon GB will ensure that student-athletes benefit from expert event delivery, enhanced competition experiences, and greater alignment with the national performance pathway.
The 2025-26 season also marks a milestone for inclusivity and innovation within the programme:
- Para disciplines will be introduced to the BUCS Pentathlon programme for the very first time, expanding opportunities for para-athletes to compete and represent their institutions at a national level.
- Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) will be added as a standalone new discipline to BUCS Pentathlon, alongside Modern Biathlon & Modern Pentathlon. With the recent introduction of OCR into Modern Pentathlon, this provides an accessible and engaging entry point into the newly introduced sport.
Together with Pentathlon GB, BUCS looks forward to continuing to develop a dynamic, inclusive, and high-quality programme that reflects the evolving landscape of modern multisport competition.
Further information, including entry details and guidance for institutions, will be shared in the coming weeks.
