In solidarity with Ukraine, and following announcements by the International Olympic Committee, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and FISU: International University Sports Federation, we confirm our full support of stripping Russia and Belarus of hosting any international sport. Our stance involves excluding individuals or teams who represent the Russian or Belarusian states and professional clubs from competition internationally; and declining to compete against representative sides from Russia and Belarus.

We also condemn the racism that Black and non-white people have been experiencing as they try to flee the conflict. It is important that we call this out whenever and wherever it occurs if we are to change things.

We hope that sport can help ensure the Russian people see the reality of what their government is inflicting upon the people of Ukraine. We express our deepest concern for all those in the Ukrainian university sport community, their friends, families, colleagues and all Ukrainian people. We hope that all people, regardless of ethnic origin or background trying to flee the conflict find safety in this time of crisis.
