In 2022-23, we have seen 88 institutions from across the UK become part of the Football Accredited Universities programme.

Football Accredited Universities is a programme funded by The FA, which aims to consistently raise the standards across both the equality of access to football provision as well as the quality of that provision.

Accredited universities can access member services such as Club Committee Leaders, staff network days, Activators days and our award-winning Women’s Leadership Programme. Additionally, all accredited universities will have the opportunity to apply for funding to deliver development projects, which 6 of our accredited universities have delivered this year.

Of the 88 institutions, 15 achieved a 3* rating, the highest score available on the programme. Congratulations to the following institutions:

  • Bournemouth University
  • Durham University
  • Leeds Beckett University
  • Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Northumbria University
  • Royal Holloway University of London
  • Teesside University
  • UCFB Etihad
  • University of Brighton
  • University of East Anglia
  • University of Hull
  • University of Nottingham
  • University of Warwick
  • University of Wolverhampton
  • University of York

We would like to thank all the universities who have engaged with the accredited universities programme during the 2022-23 season; we have exciting plans to enhance accreditation offer next season.
