Following a comprehensive selection process, we are pleased to announce that Russell James will join our Board of Directors and Trustees as a Non-Executive Commercial Director.

Russell is Sales and Marketing Director of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and has over 20 years of experience in commercial and marketing. Prior to his appointment at the ECB in 2019, Russell was a Director at The Football Association (FA), overseeing marketing and digital.  

Business Efficacy Manager at University of Birmingham, Chris Anthony, will also join the Board as a second member representative and Chair of BUCS Advisory Group.  

Professor Craig Mahoney, Chair of BUCS, said:  "I am very pleased that Russell is joining the Board. He has exceptional commercial and marketing experience and will bring deep insights from his extensive career. Chris has already proved himself to be a hugely valuable asset to BUCS and I am delighted to welcome him on to the Board.”

The BUCS Board now comprises of the Chair, six independent directors and four BUCS directors – two representing students and two representing staff of the membership; and will comprise of six men and five women.
