The University of Wolverhampton is currently home to the National Centre of Excellence for British Judo which houses some of Great Britain’s most talented judo athletes and world class judo facilities including a state of the art dojo and strength and conditioning facility.
Working in close partnership with British Judo, the University are looking to recruit a Head of Judo to deliver our extensive judo pathway for student athletes, future students and the local community. The primary aim of the Head of Judo will be to oversee the development and implementation of a strategic plan for Judo which compliments the British Judo player pathway Journey and provides inclusive opportunities for members to participate and be successful at all levels. The Head of Judo will join the management team in WLV Sport and will ensure delivery of the University judo programme including; all aspects of student competition (BUCS and scholarships), DiSE programme, England Development Talent Centre and the University community judo club. In doing so, the Head of Judo will provide direction for the programme with a vision to becoming the most successful University judo programme in Higher Education sport.
You will ideally hold a UKCC Level 3 in Judo coaching or be willing to work towards achieving in an agreed time frame. Extensive knowledge and experience of coaching judo at all levels of the participation pyramid are essential to this role.
The role is based at our Walsall campus, however there may be occasional travel required to other campuses.
