Deep Dish Events

Deep Dish will be hosting a Mixed Pairs and a Mixed Fours event on the 7th June from 9.30am – 5pm for players who are knocked out of BUCS Beach and also any University players who are not taking part in BUCS Beach. To enter the the Mixed Pairs or Mixed Fours you can enter online at (https://www.deepdishbeach.com/tournaments-entry-form) or you can register at the organiser tent up to 7pm on the 6th June.

Deep Dish Mixed Pairs and Mixed Fours

You can enter the Mixed Pairs and Mixed Fours either online at (https://www.deepdishbeach.com/tournaments-entry-form) or you can register at the organiser tent up to 7pm on the 6th June.

There are unlimited entries, so anyone signed up is guaranteed a place!

Mixed Pairs: £30 per team

Mixed Fours: £55 per team

ENTRY COSTS

£99.75 – Per Men’s and Women’s Pairs Entry (2 Competitors)

STAGED ENTRY

Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.

Entry Allowance

Each institution will be limited to:

  • 1 guaranteed male and 1 guaranteed female pair in the Championship.
  • 2 guaranteed male and 2 guaranteed female pair in the Trophy.
  • 2 guaranteed male and 2 guaranteed female pairs in the Shield.

Institutions will be required to add 2 players to each team they enter. Instructions on how to enter a team as institution staff, add a captain and join a team as a competitor are below.

Up until Monday 27 May 2024, institutions can also request to make any substitutions by emailing Chris Lamb. From Tuesday 28 May 2024 onwards, institutions will only be able to make substitutions in the case of a NEW injury evidenced by a doctor’s note or equivalent up until registration on the day.

Any substitute must be a player in another entry or the “Reserve list” registered on BUCS Play. Please note, only players from lower ranked teams can be pushed up to replace withdrawals from higher ranked teams, or reserves can be used instead. Players from higher ranked teams cannot be pushed down to lower ranked teams.

If there are player withdrawals or substitutions made, the tournament ranking will not be redrawn.

Entry Process

ENTRY PROCESS – TEAM EVENTS

To apply for this competition:

  1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to submit your entry.
  3. A Team Captain must be selected as part of the team/pair before entries close (Instructions on how to do this can be found here).
  4. Competitors then need to apply for their respective team/pair. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

When joining the relevant team, each competitor entering will be requested to provide information that can be used to assist with the overall competition ranking for that pair. Competitors are advised to provide:

• UKBT Membership Number (where applicable): This will allow the organiser to retrieve national ranking points from the UK Beach Volleyball Tour.

• Experience and ability of each pair (both as an individual and as a pair) e.g. ‘Internationally ranked athletes, beginner/recreational players, former winners etc’.

• There will also be an opportunity to indicate the preferred level of competition for each pair: Championship/Trophy/Shield.

Reserve List

When making entries, institutions should also enter on BUCS Play any reserves they may wish to use should any of their originally entered individuals become unavailable. These individuals should be entered on the “Reserve List” on BUCS Play.

Coaches Registration

Coaches attending the Beach Volleyball Championships must be registered on BUCS Play. For each pair that is entered, up to two coaches can be declared when submitting their BUCS Play entry. The BUCS Sport Specific Regulations for coaching at Beach Volleyball (BVB 6) follows the principles and procedures applied in FIVB Specific Regulations.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals before the entry closing date of 16 May 2024 at 23:59pm will not be charged the entry fee.

Withdrawals after the entry closing date of 16 May 2024 at 23:59pm will still be charged the entry fee, unless replaced by another team.

Any teams who do not attend the Technical Meeting on the morning of Thursday 6th June 2024 at 8am will be fined £20. Any teams who do not attend the competition without withdrawing in advance will be fined £30.

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.
