This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above.

All institutions will be guaranteed at least one doubles team per event. Additional teams will be accepted, subject to entry numbers, in order of merit. Teams should be approved by the university and ranked in order of merit. Both players must enter individually and name their partner upon entry. 

Men’s & Women’s doubles winner’s (as long as both players registered with ITF as playing under GBR) to receive a main draw doubles wild card as a pair into a British M25/W35 event in 2027. Which event being at the discretion of the LTA Performance Team.

To assist seeding and entry selection, players' entry information should include details of ATP/WTA/ITF Pro Tour/ITF Junior/Tennis Europe/significant home nation ranking, not local results.

To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps: 

1. Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here) 

2. Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here) 

3. BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list

Any team unable to attend must inform Sophie Kitson (Tennis Programme Coordinator) as soon as possible, copying in their Institution Administrator to ensure they are aware of the withdrawal.

If 1 person in the pair is unable to compete due to illness or injury, you will be able to switch partner up until the Tuesday before the event (17 November), your Institution Administrator must email Sophie Kitson (Tennis Programme Coordinator), Carl Baldwin (Tournament Director) and the Tournament Referee before 23:59 on Tuesday 17 November 2026 with details of the alternate partner including: name, email, university, phone number, emergency contact details, LTA Advantage Membership Number and highest playing level. Alternate partners for any reason may not be accepted after this date.

Please note, if there is only 1 pair accepted into the draw from an institution, should there be a withdrawal, if there is a second pair from that institution that has not already been accepted into the draw, they will replace the withdrawn pair in the first instance. If there is no second pair from the withdrawing institution, then the next best ranked pair will instead be contacted.

Any withdrawal later than Thursday 19 November 2026 must also be emailed to the Tournament Referee and Sophie Kitson. Any withdrawal later than 09:00 on Friday 20 November 2026 must also be telephoned to the Tournament Referee. Withdrawals are not eligible for a refund on the entry fee. Withdrawals before the entry closing date will not be charged the entry fee.

FINES FOR WITHDRAWALS

• Withdrawals after 5pm on Friday 13 November 2026: £25

• Withdrawals after 3pm on Wednesday 18 November 2026: £50

• No shows on the day: £100

• Withdrawals prior to Friday 13 November will still be charged the entry fee unless not accepted into the draw

Please see REG 7.9 for our withdrawal policy. Please note that you will still be charged the entry free if you have been accepted into the draw and regardless of the reason for the withdrawal. If you are injured or ill, you will need to provide a medical note to avoid the withdrawal fine as per REG 7.9.3 unless an alternate partner has been provided. Competitors are requested to view the withdrawal terms for this event on the event webpage.

Draws will be released the Thursday prior to the event to ensure that, as much as possible, we maintain accurate seeding, while teams from the same institutions are split throughout the draws, after any withdrawals are received.  

All draws for the Doubles Championships are knockout draws. All matches throughout the competition will be the best of two tiebreak sets with a match tiebreak deciding the third set. Sudden death deuce will also be in play.

A Consolation Draw will take place, which will include all pairs which are knocked out in the first round of the main draw, guaranteeing each pair at least two matches over the weekend. 

Any team who fails to report in person to the Tournament Referee within 15 minutes of their match being called may be scratched from the event. Please note, TEN 3.3 applies.

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event. Once you have completed the form, please go to the BUCS Desk at the event to check in with the relevant staff.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
