DATES

VENUES

Nottingham Squash Rackets Club - Men’s Grades E-H, Women’s Grades C & D

Draw

The grade allocation will be published by 5pm Thursday 20 November.

To limit first round BYEs each withdrawal will be replaced. Initially the reserve list will be used - the reserve list is not in a particular order, reserves will be pulled up dependent on who withdraws and what grade they were in. Where no grade equivalent is available competitors may be moved up from the grade below. Reserves will only be called up until Wednesday 26 November. Competitors should check the final draw which will be uploaded onto the website on Thursday 27 November.

By entering the competition the student is confirming that they are willing and able to compete. Therefore, any students called up from the reserve list who then withdraws will still be charged the entry fee

You must be ready to play at the scheduled time of your match. Please follow results on Sporty HQ and ask at the tournament desk to check any last-minute changes. Ensure you have checked the time of your next match after your previous one. Any player who is not at their game within 20 minutes after the scheduled start time will forfeit the game. A link to Sporty HQ will be available when the draw goes live.

Plate

Plate events will be held in grades B-H for all 1st round losers. Due to court/time constraints, it is unlikely we can include players who have byes or walkovers in the 1st round and lose their first match in the 2nd round. Please check with registration at the time to confirm this.

Sustainability

The sustainability of our event matters to us and these are the positive steps we are taking to manage our environmental impact:

  • All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
  • We have used local suppliers where possible
  • Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use
  • Removed paper scoring and now utilise Score Squash to score digitally
  • We track our carbon footprint across BUCS events to identify areas of improvement.

How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:

  • Be self-sufficient by using refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste. There are water refill stations at both venues and you will receive 20p off your coffee at David Ross Sports Village if bringing your own re-usable coffee cup.
  • Ensure you are disposing of waste correctly – Check around the venue for specific recycling and food waste bins
  • Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport
  • Go paperless - use your phone for all event information

Kit Donation

BUCS, the University of Nottingham and the Nottingham Squash Rackets Club have collaborated to provide PSA Foundation kit donation boxes. As part of our ongoing work to drive sustainability in sport, event attendees can continue to donate any unwanted and usable squash equipment at our ReBound collection points at the David Ross Sports Village and Nottingham Squash Rackets Club.

The Squash United Foundation ReBound programme recycles unwanted but usable squash equipment by redistributing them to squash programmes across the world that work with underserved children. You can find out more about Rebound here
