Registration and Briefing
Event Registration will be between 8:30am and 9:15am. All competitors must attend registration and produce their university registration / matriculation cards to prove their student status. The BUSA admin fee of £1 per sailor per day is payable at registration.
Please note NUS cards will not be accepted as proof of eligibility to compete.
The timing of the competitors briefing and first warning signal will be confirmed in the sailing instructions.
Instructions and Schedules
Sailing Instructions will be posted online at www.busa.co.uk and will be posted on the Official Notice Board. A copy may be provided to Team Captains at Registration.
Race Schedules will be posted on the Official Notice Board. Schedules may be posted online if possible. A copy of the first series of Races will be provided to Team Captains at Registration. Where possible, those teams who will be sailing the first race in a flight of boats will be informed before the first day of racing.
All information will also be posted on the official noticeboard on the BUSA website.Event Reminders
- Competitors are reminded that as well as Buoyancy Aids, Wetsuits or Drysuits will be required.
- Sailing is a non-contact sport. Teams should be aware of Appendix B of the Notice of Race which explains the Damage Policy which will be in operation throughout the event.
- Competitors are reminded that the Racing Rules of Sailing and the BUSA Code of Conduct apply during their entire involvement with the event; including their travel to and from the venue and at social events.
- It is the responsibility of either the individual or institution to ensure that all entrants have appropriate insurance in order to compete.
- The last team to sail a boat at the end of the day shall be responsible for taking the boat to the boat park, rolling the sails as directed, covering the boat and tying it down securely, all to the satisfaction of the person responsible for the boats. Failure to do so may referred to the Protest Committee or the BUSA Technical Delegates for further action.
