Tuesday 23 March 2023 at 23:59 – Team Join Deadline

(Students/Competitors must have joined their team on BUCS Play by this deadline)

Tuesday 4 April 2023 at 23:59 - Deadline for all competitors, potential competitors and reserves to have joined the competitors and reserves list on BUCS Play.

ENTRY COSTS

£300 per team (Further hire fee payable directly to BUSA after entry, see NoR for further details)

STAGED ENTRY

Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee. Should a stage 2 window open, these dates will be publicised here.

Entry Process

To apply for this competition:

1. Entries will need to be submitted via the Sailing 22-23 sport community section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to submit your entry.

3. A Team Captain must be selected by your Institution Administrator as part of the team before entries close (Instructions on how to do this can be found here).

4. Competitors then need to apply for their respective team. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

5. Competitors must also apply to join their institutions competitors and reserves list, which can be found in the events tab of the Sailing 22-23 community. This must be done as well as joining your respective team, or you will not be able to compete.

Entry Allowance

Entries will be based on the following: 

  • The most recent publication of the World Sailing Match Racing Open Ranking;
  • If multiple teams are unranked, priority will be given to teams of different universities to those already entered (on ranking) or being considered for entry.
  • If all teams are of different universities to those already entered (on ranking) or being considered for entry then entry will be given to the teams which pay the hire fee (See the BUSA Website for further details of this) first.

BUCS Points

BUCS Points are awarded to the institutions of the top 8 finishing teams. The exact amount of BUCS Points awarded can be found in Appendix 1.

The NoR will be published on the event page shortly which also contains some rules and regulations that must be abided by.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals must be made in writing (Email), via your institution administrator, to Chris Lamb.

Withdrawals made before the team entry deadline of Thursday 16 March at 23:59pm will not be charged the entry fee.

Withdrawals made after the team entry deadline of Thursday 16 March at 23:59pm will still be charged the full entry fee.
