STAGE 2

Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.

Stage 2 Entry: Tuesday 19 September – Tuesday 26 September 2023

 

Entry Process & Capacity

Institutions can enter more than one men’s and one women’s team. If the event reaches capacity BUCS reserves the right to cut entries. If entries are cut, priority will be given in the following order:

  • Championship teams from 2022-23 (first team only)
  • Trophy teams from 2022-23 (first team only) 
  • New Institutions first teams
  • Institution second/third etc teams

Institution Administrators (IA) must enter the desired number of teams on BUCS Play.

Students can join their team on BUCS Play once IAs have entered the team(s). Students must join their team on BUCS Play before 11:59pm Tuesday 10 October 2023. It is recommended that all students that could possibly make up the squad on the day join the team, to allow for injuries, illnesses etc. If a player has not joined the team on BUCS Play before 11:59pm Tuesday 10 October 2023, they shall not be permitted to be part of the match day squad.

All competitors must be approved on BUCS Play by their IA by 11:59pm Thursday 12 October 2023. If they have joined the team but have not been approved into the squad, they will not be able to compete.

Competitors should contact their IA to ensure their team is entered and all players are approved prior to the deadlines stated above. 

Event Format

Teams will be seeded based on their position in the BUCS Lacrosse 2022-23 season. Premiership institution’s first team will be allocated to the Championship with any remaining spaces allocated to the next best finishing position.

The remaining teams will be allocated to the Trophy along with any 2nd or 3rd teams.

Team Sheets

A team sheet will be made available within the Event Guide that Captains can use to fill out their match day playing squad which should emailed via your athletic union to Chris Lamb by 5pm Thursday 12 October 2023. All players listed on the team sheet must have entered and been approved on BUCS Play otherwise they will not be permitted to play. 

Every player listed on the match day team sheet must have joined the team on BUCS Play by Tuesday 10 October 2023. Any player who has not joined the team on BUCS Play will not be permitted to compete.

Maximum squad size for BUCS Lacrosse 6s tournament is 12 players

Shedule

These are approximate timings, but the schedule is subject to change:

Registration - 08:45-9:45

Captain’s briefing - 9:45

Stick Checks (women’s tournament) - 10:00

First Game -10:30

Approx Finish - 18:00 (presentations)

Eye Wear

It is strongly recommended that women and outfield players wear protective eye wear.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals after the closing date will incur a £50 fine.

A game schedule will be released at midday on Tuesday 5th October. Any withdrawals after this date will be subject to £100 schedule amendment fee.

No shows will be charged a £200 schedule amendment fee.

Withdrawals should be made via your athletic union who should contact the event lead.
