Events and BUCS Points Available
Men’s Individual
Women’s Individual
Men’s Overall Team
Women’s Overall Team
Individuals will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team.
As stated in REG CYC 3.5 The Men’s Overall Team and Women’s Overall Team Championships will be calculated using the extracted results from the Individual Championships. Men’s team placings shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for three riders from the same institution from the Championship race run. Women’s team placings shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for two riders from the same institution from the Championship race run.
Please refer to Appendix 1 for a breakdown of BUCS Points available.
Please note that BUCS Points will not be allocated where the minimum number of competitors has not been reached, and where there are not enough individual scores to extract a team score. Furthermore, an individual/team must have beaten another individual/team to score BUCS points. (i.e. if 3 individuals finish an event, only 2 will score BUCS points). Similarly, medals will be awarded according to the accrual of BUCS points. For example, if there are only three entries in an event only Gold and Silver medals will be awarded.
Entry Allowance
Institutions can request an unlimited number of entries, however should the event reach capacity BUCS may need to restrict the number of entries per institution. Therefore, when Institution Administrators accept entries on BUCS Play, for both the Men’s race and Women’s race, riders should be ranked in the order of preference (Eg, Rank 1 is the most preferred rider).
Championship Format
All riders will get 1 qualifying run, with the top 100 male and top 100 female riders qualifying for the Championship run. Final places will be determined based on the Championship run times. ALL riders MUST do a minimum of 2 practice runs in order to race in the Qualifying and Championship runs.
Individuals will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team. Please note the team compositions as detailed above.

BUCS will also be opening up general recruitment for further marshals to supplement these as they are essential to the running of the event.
Marshals will receive £30 payment per day (this includes covering any travel expenses they may have incurred), lunch and snacks.
Marshals should apply through BUCS Play into the competition entitled 'Marshals'
Please note: To apply to be a Marshal on BUCS Play, you must meet eligibility criteria. If you are interested in being a Marshal and are not a current student at a BUCS Member Institution please email [email protected] to express your interest.
