Registration

Registration will be in the Club House.

Registration will open from 8am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday. You must have registered at least 15 minutes before your start time. Please be aware there may be a queue at registration. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure they register in time.

It is recommended that you arrive at Orston Shotting Club an hour before your start time.

If you are late for your start time, you will be recorded as a DNS (did not show) and you will be withdrawn from the competition. You will also be charged a £20 fine unless medical evidence is provided.

Please bring your gun license to registration if you have one.

No new entries or substitutions will be accepted on the day of competition.

Competition Format

Each competitor will shoot 100 birds over 13 stands in squads of 6. Please refer to the squadding lists for your start time.

Once your squad has started the competition, you will work through the course in order of stands e.g. 1-2-3-4 etc through to 13. You will have to complete the course before returning to the club house.

 A period of 2 hours has been allocated to complete the course. There will be no breaks permitted.

In the event of a tie a notice will be displayed at the shoot to explain the process.

Scorecards

Each squad will be issued with a score card on stand 1. 

On each stand, you are to pass the scorecard to the referee who will complete the scorecard.  If a participant disagrees with a score, this MUST be addressed before they leave the stand and the referee should make the change on the scorecard.

Competitors are not permitted to write anything on the scorecards. Your scorecard will be retained on stand 13 and collected by Orson Shotting Ground Staff for completing.

No competitor is permitted to take their scorecard away at the end of the competition. 

Cartridges

Competitors must supply their own cartridges in line with CPSA regulations. Orston shooting ground will have a variety of cartridges available to purchase on the day.

If competitors want to have any cartridges saved for them, they can call Orston Shooting Ground on 01949 851181 to have them reserved. Payment will be required at the time of reservation to secure. Your gun license will be required on collection.

Safety

This championship is for experienced shooters. If you are deemed unsafe by the referee, you will be asked to leave your stand and will be disqualified from the competition.

All competitors are required to provide their own ear protection in line with CPSA guidelines. Competitors must ensure that protective eyewear and ear protection is worn throughout. It is advisable to wear a baseball cap for extra protection of falling clays. 

It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure the safety of their gun and the organisers will accept no responsibility regarding this.

Your valid shotgun licences must be available on demand on the day.

Refreshments

There will be catering in the club house available from 8am-2:30pm, where you can purchase hot and cold food and drinks.  The menu can be found here.

When out on the grounds shooting, competitors are responsible for making sure that they have food and drink once they start shooting. There will be no breaks permitted.

Clothing

All competitors are required to provide their own ear protection in line with CPSA guidelines. Competitors must ensure that protective eyewear and ear protection is worn throughout. It is advisable to wear a baseball cap for extra protection of falling clays. 

Please come prepared for all weather. This includes wearing suitable boots for all terrains. There are no breaks permitted so competitors will need to take coats with them onto the course.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol will not be sold on site until the last squad has started the course.  Any competitor consuming alcohol before or during their shoot will be automatically disqualified from the competition and asked to leave the venue.

Withdrawals

No substitutions are permitted for this event.

Withdrawals must be emailed through to the event lead via your Athletic Union.

Competitors who withdraw after 23:59 on Wednesday 6th December 2023, / do not attend registration / are late to their start time will be classed as a late withdrawal/no show and therefore will be charged the entry fee and will also be fined £20 which will be charged after the event to the competitors athletic union.

An Alumni that doesn’t attend will still be charged the entry fee. 

Parking

There are two car parks available on site. Parking is free of charge.

Facilities

The site is fully accessible. Toilets available on site.

Presentations

Presentations will take place 45 minutes after the final squad has finished on the Sunday. In the event of a tie a notice will be displayed at the shoot to explain the process.
