Guest Entries
BUCS will consider accepting guest entries from non-BUCS member institutions for Ambulant events taking place at the Indoor Championships. Athletes wishing to enter as a guest should contact Maddi Cannell and apply for the event via BUCS Play. This will be taking as an expression of interest, and any applicants will be contacted after entries close to confirm whether they will be given a place at the event or not.
For information about how to enter as a Guest please refer to this help guide.
Guest Entries will be charged the same entry fees as athletes representing member institutions. BUCS will take payment for these entries on the day at the Registration desk.
Entry Allowance
All BUCS member institutions may submit two entries per event. If an event reaches capacity one athlete per institution will be granted entry in the first instance (the athlete with the best performance over the qualification period).
The second entrants per institution will then be ranked in best performance order within the qualification period and will fill the remaining spaces in that event.
Please note that for ALL events, 2 athletes can be selected as guaranteed.
If you enter more than 2 athletes into an event, all entries outside the 2 guaranteed spots will be automatically moved to the reserve list and be subject to the £2 reserve entry fee.
Athletes MUST have a valid performance in the required qualifying period in the event(s) that they wish to enter. Failure to do so, will result in automatic rejection. The qualifying period for the BUCS Athletics Indoor Championships 2025-26 Is the 1st January 2023 - 6th January 2026, inclusive.
Reserves (Substitutes)
Reserves must be entered on BUCS Play alongside the entries which must include a link to Power of 10 or equivalent.
Do not submit a reserve if they are already entered into an event.
There is no limit to the number of reserves an institution can enter. Only athletes named on the reserve list or already competing in the competition will be able to be used as substitutes.
Substitutes must have an eligible BP within the qualifying period, meaning between 1st January 2023 and the entry closing date 6th January 2026, inclusive, for the event they are to be substituted into, and this will be checked when the substitution is made.
Following the closure of entries and any subsequent checking of Best Performances, athletes on the reserve list will not be allowed to be substituted into an event from which they have previously been rejected if the reason for rejection was failing to provide a Best Performance within the qualifying period, failing to provide a Power of 10 link (or equivalent results link) or not meeting the required entry standard where standards are necessary.
