Road Bike Category
BUCS will again run a category for Road Bike users to compete in our Time Trial events.
Road Bike riders will compete within the same competition as Time Trial riders but will not be eligible for BUCS points.
Road Bike riders results will be extracted from the overall results and the winner of this category will be awarded a white BUCS medal
BUCS Points Available
Time Trial Bike Riders: Please read Appendix 1 in conjunction with Regulation 6.
Road Bike Riders: Unfortunately, Road Bike riders will not be eligible for BUCS points.
Entry Allowance
This event has an overall capacity of 200 entrants. The maximum number of riders which could be accepted in each category is listed below:
- Open and Open Para competition combined 120 entries
- Female and Female Para competition combined 120 entries
Should this event reach capacity, entries will be accepted/rejected based on their submitted 25 mile Time Trial time. The fastest submitted time will be accepted as entry 1, next best as entry 2 and so on until the 120 maximum is reached.
Time Trial bike riders will also take priority over Road Bike users if this event reaches capacity.
Entry Process
To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:

BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list

Rules & Regulations
BUCS Cycling Rules and Regulations
CTT (Cycling Time Trials) Rules & Regulations
All bikes must adhere to these regulations including a working front AND rear light. All riders must also wear a helmet and NOT wear headphones for the duration of the event. Riders may be asked to remove their helmet at the start line and demonstrate that there is no electronic device impairing their hearing. Riders presenting to the start line with no working lights or helmet will be disqualified.
LOCAL REGULATIONS
- No riding with your head down, any rider observed riding dangerously will be disqualified from the event and reported to the CTT District Committee for further disciplinary action;
- No 'U' turns are allowed within sight of either the start or finish area;
- Numbers will be situated at the HQ; sign in before and sign out after you have finished;
- No cars to stop or park at the start or finish areas;
- No warming-up by competitors is allowed along any part of the designated course other than going to the start, after the event has started;
- Riders MUST GIVE WAY when they do not have right of way. This is necessary at the Six Mile Bottom turn and at the Stetchworth roundabout.
Qualification Times
Please submit your best 25-mile Time Trial time from the last 3 years when entering on BUCS Play.
If you have not recorded a time in the last 3 years, please provide the best estimate.

Any withdrawals after entries have closed, will still be charged the entry fee.
Para-Sport
This event has a para category for cyclists who use a standard bicycle with sport class C1-C5.
If you are a para cyclist who would like to take part but are not C1-C5, please contact your Institution Administrator at the earliest convenience.
If you believe you are a para cyclist but are yet to be classified, please get in contact or approach your Institution Administrator.
Photography & Videography
Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event
