Overview

BUCS Big Wednesday Powered by New Balance sees the culmination of 16 BUCS team sports with 57 teams being able to walk away with gold medals. The finals will be hosted at the University of Nottingham across six sport hubs; David Ross Sports Village, Highfields Sports Complex, Nottingham Hockey Centre, Nottingham Tennis Centre, Jubilee Sports Centre and Basford United Football Club. American Football fixtures will kick off the action on Tuesday.

Ticketing

The event will be ticketed across all sports except for Tennis. For all ticket information & prices please see here. Ticket sales will be available on a first come, first served basis, and it is expected many sports will sell out. Access to spectate will be via ticket only. A limited number of spaces have been reserved for accredited players/staff but this will be available on a first come first serve basis, with ticket holders having priority. 

Tickets will only be available to buy on the day online (via your phone) if there is space and we will not be able to take cash.

Parking

We encourage all visitors to campus to make use of public transport routes where possible – you can find out more about public transport further down below. We also encourage visitors to make use of Park and Ride where possible, you can find a range of options here.

Spectator parking for HUBS 1-4 is available in Florence Boot Field (NG7 2QE), access immediately prior to West entrance to University Park campus, where parking will be free of charge. Please note a section of the A52 is currently closed and is effecting access around University of Nottingham campus. Please allow longer time for travel. There is no access through campus via North/South entrances, please follow diversions in place.

For Jubilee Sports Centre, vehicles will need to park at Melton Hall (8 min walk)

For Basford United Football Club spectators can park onsite

Public Transport Links

The nearest tram stop to the hub 1- 4 venues is either University of Nottingham (Nottingham Hockey Centre and Nottingham Tennis Centre) or University Boulevard (David Ross Sports Village and Highfields sports complex). Trams run every 7 minutes throughout the day. Further information about public transport to University Park campus for hubs 1-4 can be found here.

The nearest tram stop for hub 5 (Basford United) is Highbury Vale with links from University Boulevard (if travelling form hubs 1-4) or from Nottingham Railway Station.

For hub 6 (Jubilee Sports Centre), spectators can make use of the free 903 hopper bus travelling to and from University Park and Jubilee Campus. Travelling from Hub 1-4 to Hub 6, take the hopper bus from Rutland Hall bus stop (adjacent to hub 1) to Innovation Park which is a 4 minute walk to Jubilee Sports Centre. Hub 6 is also easily accessible by bus from Nottingham Railway station taking Nottingham City Transport buses 1 or 3. Further information about public transport to Jubilee Park campus for hub 6 can be found here.

The nearest park and ride site is Toton Lane and offers free parking.  More information about park and ride sites on the tram network can be found here;  http://www.thetram.net/park-and-ride.aspx

Catering

Food and refreshments will be available for spectators to purchase at the event.

No livestreams will be authorised at BUCS Big Wednesday. The schedule and sports for the official BUCS livestreams will be released in due course.
