Pentathlon

This is for the students who want to mix things up a bit. Why compete in one sport when you can compete in multiple? Join our Pentathlon programme!

Event Programme:

The Pentathlon programme consists of 3 disciplines:

  • Modern Biathlon

  • Modern Pentathlon

  • Obstacle Course Racing (OCR)

The Modern Pentathlon is a sport made up of five events: fencing (one-touch épée), freestyle swimming, obstacle course racing (OCR), and a final combined event of pistol shooting and cross-country running. This final stage is now known as the Laser-Run, as athletes complete alternating rounds of laser-pistol shooting followed by a 600 m run, repeated across five legs.

If the full Modern Pentathlon feels a bit much, why not try Modern Biathlon? This event combines two key pentathlon disciplines—swimming and running—making it an accessible introduction to the sport.

And if neither of those is quite right for you, why not give Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) a go? This exciting new addition to the Pentathlon programme pushes your speed, strength, and agility to the limit as you race through dynamic, fast-paced, and technical obstacles.
