Golf is a mixed programme with both individual stroke play events (forming the BUCS Golf Tour) and team match play leagues throughout the season.

Individual Competition - BUCS Golf Tour

The BUCS Golf Tour is comprised of nine events plus the Tour Finals. They are played at some of the UK’s most prestigious courses. Tour Events take place during two time periods; September to October and March to April.

To qualify for the BUCS Golf Tour Finals individuals must compete in at least two qualifying events. The top 50 men and 15 women in the Macpherson Order of Merit are invited to compete at the season ending finale.

Team Competition

Team Competition has both league and knockout competitions. During league play, all matches are made up of six to ten singles matches. This depends upon the league.

Each team’s position in the league pyramid determines whether they qualify for the: Championship, Trophy or Conference knockout competitions. This culminates in the Team Championship Finals.

The BUCS golf programme is supported by the R&A who provide us with an annual grant to enhance the standard of our events and to support the overall golf development at the university level.
