The men’s pair made up of Toby Lassen (Oxford Brookes) and Felix Rawlinson (University of Oxford) took the bronze medal in the Rhine-Ruhr three day regatta.
In GB Students fourth medal race of the six boats of the men’s pair lined up on the start line with 2,000m ahead of them with medals waiting for them at the end. A strong start for the boys saw them nestle amongst the other boats with Lithuania going early on the attack.
Going into the first check point at 500m the boys sat in second place and at the half way mark slipped down into the bronze medal shot with Italy passing them by. With 500m’s to go the boats stretched out more and more from each other with the pair sat comfortably in the bronze medal position, which is where they finished the race come crossing the line.
