A stacked GB Students rowing squad is ready to make waves at Rhine-Ruhr 2025 across eights, pairs, doubles, and singles.

We’re ready to row! A powerhouse team of student-athletes has been selected to represent GB Students in Rowing at the FISU World University Games this summer in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.

With athletes from top rowing programmes across the UK — and even some studying overseas — this squad is bringing serious speed and determination to the water. From eights and fours to doubles and singles, GB Students will compete across a wide range of events against the best student rowers in the world.

Lead coach, Dan Harris said: “The World University Games is a fantastic event and one that I know our student athletes will thoroughly enjoy. We have a very strong team, capable of challenging for podiums and medals so we’re excited to see what they can deliver against the best student athletes in the world"

“We also have a fantastic team of coaches from some of the best University programmes in the country, so I’m confident in what we can deliver with the athletes in this team!”

Head coach for the Olympic Pathway at British Rowing, Pete Sheppard added: “We are extremely grateful to allthe Universities and clubs who have supported our athletes throughout a demanding trials process to earn their place on the team.”

“Without their support we wouldn’t have the calibre of team and British Rowing would like to thank them for their support.”
