British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) has embarked on a five-year partnership with global teamwear provider New Balance Teamsports.

Joining the likes of the ECB, The Hundred and the NBA, BUCS will join New Balance’s roster of brands looking to take their performance to the next level. New Balance will give BUCS athletes the opportunity to wear a leading sports brand; inclusive for students no matter what their level.

The partnership will involve a co-branded merchandise range, including hoodies, t-shirts, shorts, leggings and kitbags, and will launch to students and fans at the end of October.

The collaboration also involves New Balance Teamsports becoming the headline partner of BUCS Big Wednesday – one of the biggest events in the BUCS sporting calendar – the culmination of team knockout competition featuring 54 finals across 15sports.

Other features of the partnership include New Balance Teamsports becoming a supporting partner of BUCS Conference, as well as co-hosting a ‘BUCS Presents’ webinar.

John Carden, Director at New Balance Teamsports said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with BUCS for the next 5 years. At New Balance Teamsports, we are passionate about supporting young people as they engage and participate in sport at all levels and see a real synergy between ourselves and BUCS and their mission to create the best university sport experience in the world.”

Vince Mayne, CEO at BUCS commented; “We are excited to be partnering with a brand that is world renowned for their high-performance sportswear. As we enter the most anticipated season to date, the excitement to return to BUCS sport is at an all-time high, and we are looking forward to the New Balance collection being a part of that. The chance to identify as a BUCS athlete through our sportswear collection is a unique opportunity that brings a certain level of prestige, as students start or continue their own university sport experience.”
