BUCS is excited to announce a new partnership with awards specialists Badges And Medals as its official medal supplier for the next three years.

The sustainability focussed, custom-made medals will help BUCS enhance its experience at competitions and events by providing a high-quality celebration of student sporting excellence from the 2025-26 season onwards.

BUCS CEO Will Roberts, said: “I’m delighted that we are going to be working alongside Badges And Medals from next season.

“Badges And Medals align with our overall mission to deliver exceptional student sporting experience that inspire, develop and unite, and their dynamic and innovative approach to sustainability is what sets them apart.

“For many of our participants, winning a BUCS medal of any form will be among the highlights of the university experience, and I’m thrilled to offer a high-quality, crafted item that they will look at and reflect upon for years and decades to come.”

Badges And Medals CEO Hamish Larsen said he couldn't be more excited about the collaboration.

"BUCS is an incredible organisation, and we're proud to help honour their participants with awards that are second to none,” said Larsen.

“BUCS is also showing that it’s possible to have exceptional medals while still being environmentally and socially responsible.”

BUCS will remove almost 30,000 plastic bottles from the ocean this year by working with Badges And Medals.

For the next three years, each medal BUCS hands out will be made of 100% recycled metal and stop two plastic bottles from entering the ocean.

The medals will also be packed in paper instead of single-use plastic bags, and trees will be planted in the Amazon to balance their shipping emissions.

Badges And Medals already partners with Surf Life Saving Australia, FIBA, the Los Angeles Marathon and the Melbourne Marathon.
