Professor Mahoney has served on BUCS’ Board for over three years and has played a key role in the governance of the organisation, ensuring robust measures have been brought in to provide protection to the organisation.
“On behalf of our Board and BUCS’ staff team, we thank Craig for his service and commitment to BUCS,” stated Russell James, Senior Independent Director. “We greatly appreciate the leadership, insight, and expertise that Craig has provided. Since starting his role in December 2019, Craig has strengthened the governance of the organisation, putting in place systems and structures that protect the organisation. We are grateful to Craig for his dedication to higher education sport and wish him well for the future.”
Professor Mahoney stated, “It is with a heavy heart I have decided to step down as Chair of the BUCS Board. It has been a great honour to serve in this role with an organisation which I have admired and been an active participant and supporter, in its current and previous forms, for over 35 years.
As BUCS commences its search for a new CEO and with the launch of a new four-year Strategy, now is the right time to step aside allowing a fresh start for BUCS, led by a new CEO a refreshed Board and a new Chair.”
Professor Mahoney went on to say, “I want to thank my fellow directors and wish BUCS nothing but success.”
