(Institutional Administrators are given 48 hours after the student / competitor deadline to approve entries)
Entry Costs
£85 per competitor (British Triathlon Members)
£87 per competitor (Non-British Triathlon Member)*
*The additional £2 for Non-BTF members is for the race-pass required to compete in the event.
Staged Entry
Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.
Entry Allowance
Institutions can request an unlimited number of entries. Institutions must rank their competitors on BUCS Play in order of preference before the closing date. If the event reaches capacity these rankings will be used to determine the start list.
The capacity for this event is 500 competitors.
Individuals cannot enter both the Female and Open Categories, they must only enter one. For clarity the definitions of ‘female’ and ‘open’ please refer to British Triathlons Transgender Policy HERE.
Entry Process
To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:
- Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list

Competition Format & Course Description
1500m Swim – OWS on the Great Broad
The swim commenced from Whitlingham Adventure (WA) with competitors starting from the front steps before being ushered in the water.
40km Cycle –
The bike route takes competitors right out of transition along Whitlingham Lane towards Trowse, before heading out through the stunning South Norfolk route shown on the map to your right.
10km Run – Mixed terrain around the perimeter of the Great Broad
The run route starts with you turning left out of transition on to a short selction on Whitlingham Lane before you turn right into the picnic field. There is then a short section through the woods before joining the path around the stunning Whitlingham Broad for 2 laps. It is then back into the main field and into the finish line.

- Individual (Open and Women’s)
- Open Overall Team – The team placing shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for three open athletes from the same institution.
- Women’s Overall Team – The team placing shall be determined by the fastest cumulative time for three female athletes from the same institution.
Only one team per university per team competition will be awarded BUCS points.

Withdrawals
To withdraw, please contact your institution administrator who should contact the event lead.
The entry fee will not be charged for entries withdrawn prior to the entry deadline, Once the closing date has passed, entry fees will be charged for any withdrawals.

Additional information required for your entry:
- Estimated Finish Time
- British Triathlon Membership Number (if you have one)
- Para Triathlon Category (if applicable)
Times cannot be changed after the entry deadline, therefore please enter you time carefully.

Photography & Videography
Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.
BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
