Entry Allowance
Institutions can request an unlimited number of entries, however, should the event reach capacity BUCS may need to restrict the number of entries per institution. Therefore, when submitting entries on BUCS Play, entries should be ranked in order of preference of entry before being submitted. Should BUCS need to restrict per this will be done equally across institutions.
Please ensure that both individuals enter the synchronised event in the correct category as per the entry process below, with institution administrators ranking the pairs as 1 and 1 for their first pair, 2 and 2 for the second, and so on.
Entry Process
To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:
- Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list
Any data will be handled in accordance with BUCS Privacy Policy
By participating in this event you agree to adhere to BUCS General Event Disclaimer
To check whether you are eligible to compete in BUCS competitions, please visit REG 4 Individual Eligibility.
Entry Checking
Following the closing of entries and the IA Approval Deadline, BUCS will compile an entry report list, posted on this page, for institutions and clubs to check their entries.
Institutions must review this report very carefully and provide amendments within seven days of publication. Permissible changes include errors only, such as category, gender, and spelling of names. Competitors cannot be added or removed in this window unless additions are submitted within the stage two entry window (if applicable).
Amendments will only be processed if received within the seven day window, and if they are sent to BUCS Events. Amendments received to EMG members or any other persons aside from the email above will NOT be processed, without exception.
Events & BUCS Points Available
BUCS Points will be awarded for the following individual events:
INDIVIDUAL TRAMPOLINE FIG LEVEL (MEN AND WOMEN):
DOUBLE MINI-TRAMPOLINE FIG LEVEL (MEN AND WOMEN)
SYNCHRONISED TRAMPOLINE LEVEL 1
BUCS Points will be awarded for the following team events:
OVERALL TRAMPOLINE TEAM (MEN AND WOMEN)
Individuals across all TRA categories (including BUCS Disability) will automatically be entered into the team competition, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team. For each of the Men’s and Women’s team events, the team placing shall be determined by the highest cumulative qualification round scores for three gymnasts from the same institution.
The following events are also available to enter at the event, but are not awarded BUCS Points:
INDIVIDUAL TRAMPOLINE LEVELS 1-7 (MEN AND WOMEN)
INDIVIDUAL DISABILITY TRAMPOLINE LEVELS 1-2 (CATEGORY 1 AND 2 - MEN AND WOMEN) – See competition structure document for further information.
DOUBLE MINI TRAMPOLINE LEVELS 1-4 (MEN AND WOMEN)
SYNCHRONISED TRAMPOLINE LEVELS 2-4
Please note that BUCS points will not be allocated where the minimum number of competitors has not been reached, and where there are not enough individual scores to extract a team score. Furthermore, an individual/team/pair must have beaten another individual/team/pair to score BUCS points.
Similarly, medals will be awarded according to the accrual of BUCS Points. For example, if there are only three entries in an event, only gold and silver medals will be awarded. For further information please see Appendix 1 of the BUCS General Regulations.
Entry Matrices
The entry matrices in the competition structure provide a comparison between competition levels at BUCS and other competition structures. The relevant entry matrix should be used to determine the appropriate category for each competitor to enter. Where there is crossover between a BUCS level and multiple categories in other structures, participants should enter the BUCS level that corresponds with the highest level of difficulty performed in any competition within the past 12 months. The trampoline matrix applies to synchronised trampoline pairs, even if one or both competitors are not entered into individual trampoline.
In exceptional circumstances, a competitor may formally apply to BUCS to compete in a level below the category that the entry matrix dictates they should. This could include having competed at a higher level in another competition structure or having performed a higher difficulty than the maximum allowed within the intended BUCS level, within the last 12 months. Failure to make a formal application to downgrade will result in automatic disqualification without right to appeal. Should you wish to make a dropdown request, please email BUCS Events.
Provision of Officials
Based on feedback from last years event, the number of officials an institution is required to provide has been altered, and is now as follows:
Institutions/Playing Entities are required to submit judges as follows:
1–5 entries: None required
6–10 entries: At least one full-day qualified judge per day
11–19 entries: At least two full-day qualified judges per day
20+ entries: At least three full-day qualified judges per day
For full details on the provision of officials, please refer to TRM 7 in the rules and regulations.Officials Submission Form
Please fill out the Officials Form template and submit to BUCS Events before the entry closing date (22 January at 23:59pm). Failure to do so on time, or with incomplete information/insufficient numbers, will result in your institution’s entry being rejected without refund.
Guest Entries
If the event has capacity, non-student and non-BUCS institution student guests will be permitted to enter all categories. If an institution permits, alumni guests should enter their institution as ‘Guest’ when applying to join the relevant category.
Guests may qualify for and compete in a final round but will not displace a student competitor (i.e. they will compete in the final in addition to the top 8 student competitors) and cannot medal. Guest scores will also not accrue or contribute towards BUCS points or teams. Guest entries will not be permitted to compete in BUCS Knockout.
Please note that guest entries are provisional and will be subject to removal if the event reaches capacity with BUCS student entries.
