Single Entry

This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above. 

Events & BUCS Points Available

BUCS Points available can be found detailed in Appendix 1 (BUCS Appendices). Appendix 1 should be read in conjunction with Regulation 6 (BUCS REG 6 BUCS Points, Medals and Trophies). 

Entry Allowance

All institutions will be guaranteed at least one doubles team per event. Additional teams will be accepted, subject to entry numbers, in order of merit. Teams should be entered by the university in order of merit. Both players must enter individually and name their partner upon entry. 

Men’s & Women’s doubles winner’s (as long as both players registered with ITF as playing under GBR) to receive a main draw doubles wild card as a pair into a British M25/W35 event in 2026. Which event being at the discretion of the LTA Performance Team.

To assist seeding and entry selection, players' entry information should include details of ATP/WTA/ITF Pro Tour/ITF Junior/Tennis Europe/significant home nation ranking, not local results. 

Entry Process

To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps: 

  1. Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here

  1. Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here

  1. BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list 

Any data will be handled in accordance with BUCS Privacy Policy

Withdrawals

Any team unable to attend must inform  Sophie Kitson (Tennis Programme Coordinator) as soon as possible, copying in their Institution Administrator to ensure they are aware of the withdrawal. 

If 1 person in the pair is unable to compete due to illness or injury, you will be able to switch partner up until the Tuesday before the event (11 November), your Institution Administrator must email Sophie Kitson (Tennis Programme Coordinator), Carl Baldwin (Tournament Director) and Richard Joyner (Tournament Referee) before 23:59 on Tuesday 11 November 2025 with details of the alternate partner including: name, email, university, phone number, emergency contact details, LTA Advantage Membership Number and highest playing level. Alternate partners for any reason may not be accepted after this date. 

Any withdrawal later than Thursday 13 November 2025 must also be emailed to the Tournament Referee, Richard Joyner and Sophie Kitson. Any withdrawal later than 09:00 am on Friday 14 November 2025 must also be telephoned to the Tournament Referee. Withdrawals are not eligible for a refund on the entry fee. 

FINES FOR WITHDRAWALS 

  • Withdrawals after 5pm on Wednesday 12 November 2025: £20 

  • Withdrawals after midday Thursday 13 November 2025: £50 

  • No shows on the day: £100 

  • Withdrawals prior to Wednesday 12 November will still be charged the entry fee unless not accepted into the draw

Draws and Match Information

Draws will be released the Thursday prior to the event to ensure that, as much as possible, we maintain accurate seeding, while teams from the same institutions are split throughout the draws, after any withdrawals are received.  

All draws for the Doubles Championships are knockout draws. All matches throughout the competition will be the best of two tiebreak sets with a match tiebreak deciding third set and sudden death deuce. 

A Consolation Draw will take place, which will include all pairs which are knocked out in the first round of the main draw, guaranteeing each pair at least two matches over the weekend. 

Any team who fails to report in person to the Tournament Referee within 15 minutes of their match being called may be scratched from the event. Please note, TEN 3.3 applies. 

Please also note that Saturday night's matches may finish later than usual due to a later start time at the venue. 

Photography and Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event. Once you have completed the form, please go to the BUCS Desk at the event to receive your media accreditation. 

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
